WHAT IS IT?
It is a 17-week comprehensive curriculum that’s goal is to teach actors and non-actors a technique that will get them working in the industry…now! The course is broken up into four sections: Introduction to Acting, Monologues, Scene Study & Performance (see curriculum). Diction and movement are also included in the course. It is a very intense and intensive course-only the serious need apply. At the end of the curriculum, graduating students will perform in a show crafted around their work in class!
WHO’S THE TEACHER? - LARRY B. SCOTT
As an actor, Larry B. Scott has starred in over 50 film and television projects.
Some of his credits include: Revenge Of The Nerds I-IV, Fear Of A Black Hat, Space Camp, Seinfeld, The Jamie Foxx Show, A Mother’s Testimony, The Parkers, Getting Played and many more. A working actor for over 20 years, Larry B. has studied method acting with William Hickey at HB Studios in N.Y., the Meisner technique at Playhouse West, as well as studying for three years with Ed Cambridge- one of the founders of the Negro Ensemble.
Larry B. Scott developed his technique from extracting the best from
each process he studied. Working as a director and producer plus running a soundstage for three years awarded Larry B. the ability to view acting from a different angle. That coupled with the invaluable knowledge from currently working as an actor in the industry gave him a unique ability and understanding of what qualities are needed to become a working actor. He fused that with a commonsense approach to the audition process, which leaves actors feeling confident, ready to work, and very ready to audition.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST AND HOW DO I JOIN?
The course cost only $800 plus a $30 registration fee. You must pay 2 months upfront ($400) to get started. You can not make more than three payments. Registration begins one month before class starts, and ends April 23rd. Simply call the hotline, or ‘e’ me. Leave your name and phone #. Then say, “I’m Ready for The 4 Month Workout!” Someone from W.I.T. will get back to you and get you registered!
Note: Because of the courses unique structure students can only enroll in the first month. You cannot join the class after the first month. Students are put thru very rigorous and emotional exercises in the first month and this process cannot be jeopardized or influenced by people not in the class.
HOW CAN I AUDIT THE CLASS?
After the first month, registration closes and the class is now open to audit for 8 weeks (Monologue Month & Scene Study Month). In the fourth month the class once again closes to the outside world, as the students prepare for the show.
